Extension Policy Overview

Although we strongly encourage program or course completion within the designated access term, we understand students may have a need to extend their course access. Below you'll find details on extension availability and applicable fees (if any), as they vary per product.

Instructor Led Online Classes- 6-week access term

Policy - A 10-day extension is built into each course/session. The course End Date (Final Exam Due Date) is listed in the student’s Classroom for each course; however, all students will continue to have access for an additional ten days after this date. For example, if the course ends on the 15th, students can still access the course and submit the final exam through the 25th. You can view and print out the Course Calendar to reference these important dates. To access your Course Calendar go to: admin.ed2go.com > Tracking > Course Calendar.

Procedure - There is no action needed to request an extension. At any time you can inform students that they have an additional ten days after the final exam due date to complete their course.

NOTE: Students do not have the ability to view the extension date in the classroom.

If 10 days is not enough additional time, you can submit a request to transfer the student to a new session by completing the Drop/Transfer Request Form at your Online Administration Center (under the Tracking tab). The student will not have to re-enroll in the course if they are transferred. There is no cost or fee for the transfer.

Career Training Programs - 3-18 month access term

Policy - Extensions are available for most Career Training Programs; however, cost and duration vary from program to program.

Procedure - ed2go processes student extensions. Students can request extension information and processing directly from their Student Advisor. If payment is required, we will directly collect payment from the student or refer the student to the content provider to make payment, depending on the program. Partners may also request extensions on a student's behalf by emailing your student's name, program title and email address to the Partner Helpdesk via this link. If we are invoicing you for the cost of the extension, please let us know.

NOTE: Students funded by a government agency, such as WIOA or Vocational Rehabilitation must have their WIOA or Vocational Rehabilitation counselor's approval to obtain an extension.

Career Online High School - Diploma Program

Policy - Extensions are available for the Career Online High School programs. Students are given eighteen (18) months to complete the program. If students are not able to complete the program within eighteen months, they can purchase an extension for one (1) month for $150. They can purchase up to three extensions. If additional time is needed, the student must re-enroll in the program.

Procedure - ed2go processes the extension for the student, once approval has been granted by their facilitator.
